Anxiety is something that we cannot help but all acknowledge affects each one of us, every single day. It’s something that has been compounded by covid-19 and the lockdowns we all faced.
So, what can we do? Live our lives trying to avoid it? Or, do we take up yoga and try and eat our 5 a day? Sure, it sounds a good idea but is there a way of avoiding fitting into yoga pants and eating copious amount of fruits and vegetables.
Yes.
Introducing, CBD. CBD might be the thing you are looking for, CBD for anxiety is perfect and Hemp Point have all the information you need.
What research is there for CBD and Anxiety?

The truth is, CBD is still quite new and this means there are parts of CBD which are still being researched and reviewed but, for the most part the general consensus is sleep and anxiety are where CBD is used the most.
A 2010 study looked at the effects of CBD on 10 people with social anxiety disorder and participants were either given 400 milligrams of CBD or a placebo. The participants who received CBD had reduced anxiety levels. The great thing about CBD is it’s not addictive and does not get you high, this is why it’s not illegal unlike cannabis.
A 2018 studyTrusted Source gave participants either CBD or a placebo before they did a public speaking test. Those who received 300 milligrams of CBD before the test had reduced anxiety. But those who received a placebo, 150 milligrams of CBD, or 600 milligrams of CBD didn’t seem to experience reduced anxiety.
A leading voice in CBD is Dr. Hurd, he is quoted to say, “It can activate some serotonin receptors, and the serotonin system is associated with alleviating anxiety.”
Serotonin is a hormone that our body produces. Low serotonin levels are associated with depression and anxiety. Serotonin also plays a role in our eating and sleeping patterns. It’s thought that CBD might interact with your serotonin, which is why it could have an anti-anxiety effect.
How do you decide on what CBD to use and how much?
There’s some great resources out there which make this easy, for example Hemp Point have their own calculator: https://hemppointcbd.co.uk/cbd-dosage-calculator/
The best approach is to start with a small dosage of CBD and increase slowly until you reach your desired effect. Your ideal dosage of CBD depends on a lot of factors, like your body weight, body chemistry, the condition you’re treating, and the concentration of CBD in the product you’re using.
So what is the maximum amount of CBD you should take?
Generally, researchers have found that 600 mg per day appears to be safe but one study suggested that doses of up to 1,500 mg a day are safe and tolerated well.
If you’re using CBD oil, it’ll likely come in a dropper bottle but the question is how much cbd is in that dropper or how much of a dropper you should take. The reason it’s sometimes hard is the difficulty when working out how much CBD is in one drop because the bottle specifies the total amount of CBD but not the amount that will be in a single drop which is the important number to know.
One drop is about 0.05ml, this is a drop not a full dropper amount. This means that a 10 ml bottle of CBD oil contains 200 drops. Yet, everyone says CBD is expensive? We digress so if the packaging for that bottle says it contains 1,000 mg of CBD, each drop will contain about 5 mg of CBD.
Slightly confusing but you’ll get the hang of it. Basically, in simple terms, if you have 20 mg of that type of CBD oil, you should take four drops.
Make sense?
